Moman fashions RFC victory

Bhubaneswar: Regional Football Club (RFC) rode on a twin strike by Moman Vaipei to record an emphatic 3-0 victory over Kalinga Football Academy (KFA) in a match of 14th Gati Krushna memorial (Division-B) football tournament here, Tuesday.

Moman who had a relatively quiet tournament so far gave RFC the lead in the 12th minute. Latching onto a pass from midfield, Moman dribbled past a couple of opposition defenders to shoot from close range and beat the rival custodian.

Moman doubled the score 17 minutes later. This time his powerful long-ranger beat the KFA goalie all ends up. In between the two Moman goals, Surmani Singh got his name on the scoreboard in the 25th minute.

Twin victory for Santanu

In spite of winning one match and losing the other, Shivam Singhal was chosen as ‘player of the day’ in the ongoing All Orissa Open 6-Red Snooker Championships in Cuttack, Tuesday. In his first match Shivam defeated Shyam Agarwal 3-0, but lost his second tie against Akram Khan 2-3. 

Meanwhile Santanu Nanda enjoyed a good day at office winning both his matches by emphatic margins. He first defeated Gyana Behera 3-1 and then trounced Govind Sharma 3-0.
