Bhubaneswar: In a major decision aimed at encouraging faculty members to take up the responsibility of heading aided colleges, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a monthly incentive scheme for in-charge principals of private aided colleges in the state.
Under the new scheme, eligible in-charge principals of 488-category and 662-category aided colleges will receive monthly incentives ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, depending on their place of posting and the distance from their home district.
Around 641 colleges across the state are expected to benefit from the decision, with the state government likely to incur an annual expenditure of approximately Rs 6 crore.
According to the approved proposal, principals posted in their home districts or developed urban areas will receive an incentive of Rs 5,000 per month.
Those posted outside their home districts will be entitled to Rs 7,000 per month.
