Morale-booster DGP, Collectors, SPs, senior officials to take COVID-19 vaccine shots February 6

Bhubaneswar: In order to build confidence among the frontline workers that the vaccine has no side effects and is safe, senior officials like Director General of Police and all district Collectors will take COVID-19 jabs February 6.

A decision in this regard was taken Friday at the Steering Committee Meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra.

The vaccination of frontline workers starts from February 6. With a view to send out a message that the vaccine is safe, it has been decided at the meeting that the DG, Police and other senior officers will receive the shots.

The district Collectors and the SPs will also receive the vaccination jabs February 6. After receiving the shots, they will have to upload their photos of being vaccinated on their respective tweeter handles. It will have a positive impact on the frontline workers and others and help get the desired momentum.

Notably, Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, received the COVID-19 vaccine jab Friday.
