MUDRA YOJANA: Banks disbursed Rs4.7K cr in state

Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: Banks in the state disbursed Rs4,752 crore under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) as of September 2017. The figures in first quarter stood at Rs1,655.60 crore of disbursals against the sanction sum of Rs1,850.68 crore.
“Of the total disbursals, ‘sishu’ category has seen the major chunk of disbursal of Rs3,449.78 crore, ‘kishore’ category saw disbursal of Rs759 crore and Rs543.26 crore was sanctioned under the ‘tarun’ category,” an official from State Level Bankers’ Committee told Orissa POST.
The official said public sector banks has disbursed about Rs1,181.49 crore as against Rs605.51 crore disbursed by private sector banks. Microfinance institutions, non-banking financial institutions and small finance banks together disbursed Rs2,867.03 crore.
He also said regional rural banks has disbursed Rs97.88 crore while foreign banks disbursed Rs0.13 crore.
Banks and other financial institutions have disbursed Rs7,600.68 crore against the sanctioned sum of Rs7,891.36 crore last fiscal and target of Rs6,980.72 crore.
The disbursals under the ‘Sishu’ category was Rs5,187.48 crore during last fiscal; it was Rs1,376.17 crore under the ‘kishore’ category; and it was Rs1,037.03 crore under ‘tarun’ category during the last fiscal.
“Public sector banks disbursed 31.23 per cent of total disbursal last fiscal while private sector banks disbursed 12.74 per cent of total disbursal,” the official said and added that MFIs, NBFCs and small finance banks disbursed Rs4,152.94 crore, while the RRB disbursed 1.39 per cent during the same period last fiscal.
On district-wise performance of banks under the MUDRA scheme, the official said Khurdha district saw the biggest share of disbursal at Rs500.24 crore given to 1,80,547 accounts whereas the minimum disbursal was of Rs23.30 crore to 8,898 accounts in Malkangiri district, the official added.
All banks and financial institutions have sanctioned a total of Rs1,850.68 crore and disbursed Rs1,655.60 crore as on September 30, 2017 this fiscal.
