Bhubaneswar, Sept 12: The first multi-designer fashion show to be held September 25 in the city will feature some of the well-known fashion designers from the national and international arena who will showcase their exclusive collections at the event.
Rajdeep Ranaut, Ratan Pandey, RC Jambal and Sasmita Parida are the some of the designers from India who will participate in the show organised by Addiction Fashion Management and Consultancy and conceptualised by Dream Craft Entertainment.
“For the first time, five acclaimed designers will showcase their creations in this show. Its grand opening ceremony will feature designer Dolly Parekh. All the designs and garments will have an unmistakably Indian touch. There will be Indian, western and bridal collections,” said Ajay Kumar Behera, a member of the organising committee.
“More than 20 national-level models will walk the ramp showcasing all kinds of garments. Some of them are known faces like Khusboo Kankan, Siana Singh, Rupa Khurana, Khusboo Goyal, Kajal Srivastava, Jitin, Indrajeet Singhdeo and Sohail Pathan among others,” Ajay said.
Informing about new collections, Dolly said, “For the first time my collection of patta-chitra designs will be displayed in a fashion show in the city. I have used the same mythological patta-chitra design in saris, lehengas and other garments.”
Her collection in a recent fashion show in Bangalore was widely appreciated. “Activist Laxmi Narayan Tripati will be the showstopper,” she added.
The aim of organising the show, according to Ajay, was to bridge the gap between commerce and creativity. “Bhubaneswar is a smart city, so we thought the style and fashion sense of the city needs to grow,” he added.
