Cuttack: The court of the additional district and sessions judge here Monday began the process of recording statements in the abduction and murder attempt of fish trader Rohan Khan.
Rohan appeared before additional district and sessions judge Satyanarayan Mishra and recorded his statements. Besides, gangster Sushil Dhalasamanta, sharp shooter Arif Khan and other accused involved in the case also appeared in the court during the hearing.
In his statements, Rohan said he was on his way towards Barabati Stadium along with his friends through Cambridge School road February 19, 2014 when eight persons, including Arif, came on four motorcycles and waylaid them. Soon after Rohan stopped his bike, Arif sat on the pillion seat and held him at gunpoint. Arif asked him to follow instructions and keep on driving, else he would shoot him.
“As per Arif’s direction, I drove my bike to Bidanasi riverbed. On reaching there, Arif and his accomplices attacked me with wooden planks and iron rods. Later, they called in Sushil who reached the spot in a few minutes. Sushil pointed a gun at my head and then put it in my mouth and threatened to kill me,” Rohan told the court. “I pushed them aside and ran for life. As I managed to reach the main road, the attackers had fled the spot,” Rohan said.
Rohan had lodged a complaint with Cantonment police and a case was registered against Sushil, Arif and others. During the hearing, Rohan identified the accused in the court room. On the other hand, Sushil and his brother Sushant were produced in the court in connection with Dipu and Om murder cases.
