MY SUNDAY – Sudhanshu Sahu, Director

Himanshu Guru

Sudhanshu Sahu is one of the leading directors of Oriya cinema. While he has made controversial films like Swayamsiddha, he has also shown his directorial acumen in films like College Time meant for youngsters. He has a number of Oriya films to his credit. After Bhanuri these days he is busy shooting for film Raghupati Raghav Rajaram of Sarthak.

Ardent film-watcher

If I get time I watch a lot of films Sundays especially those that I had missed. I have DVDs of around 50 films that I have watched yet due to lack of time I can’t watch many more. There is not a specific off-day in the Oriya film industry. Yet the second Sunday is sometimes observed as a no-work day. However, people also shoot if it is urgent.

Veggie

I am a vegetarian and love simple food. I prefer to have ‘Roti Chhena’ or some other simple food on Sundays. I also visit temples this day and on many occasions I go to Puri to have both darshan of Lord Jagannath and to spend
some time on the sea beach. Somebody accompanies me, it is my routine trip.

Friends’ favourite

I also love spending time with my friends like writer Dilip Choudhury and producer Atish Rout on Sundays. We discuss films when we are engaged in intense ‘khatti’. I also do marketing Sundays.
