Nabakalebara’s online presence to linger on

post news network, Bhubaneswar, May 22: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube pages of Nabakalebara and a dedicated website for the mega festival, launched by the state tourism department, have received good response from the citizens of Orissa.

A number of people are now logging on to these resources to get updated on the happenings related to the mega show. Within a few days of their launch, these sites have garnered appreciable response, which is evident from the number of people who are now linked to these sites.

Till date, around 18,000 people have joined the Facebook page of the official link of the Nabakalebara page, which was recently launched by the state government. Similarly, Nabakalebara’s Youtube page has registered around 1,500 views. The Twitter page of Nabakalebara has around 300 users actively following it.

These social media pages basically keep on updating the people of the state about the latest happenings in the state, related to the festival. These often share news related to some announcement or the other made by the government, some interesting stories about the festival, new advertisements related to the fest and many other things.

Moreover, in order to covey the significance of this mega festival the state department has now started to use the Nabakalebara festival logo in all its official correspondences. The state tourism department, meanwhile, is considering other plans to make the event more popular in the days to come.

The agencies entrusted with the job of managing and updating these social media pages, meanwhile, are mulling to carry on with the campaign in such a way that the age-old festival of Orissa is remembered by one and all in the days to come. “Since, there will be no updates once the Daru reaches the temple, we will start online quiz and other exciting contests to keep the audiences engaged and simultaneously educate them about Nabakalebara,” said Pratik Mohapatra, who currently heads the Prelude Digital team, an extension of a Bhubaneswar based media company, Prelude that drives the Nabakalebara social media campaign.
