Nabarangpur: A woman Tuesday alleged she was forced by staff of the district headquarters hospital here to dress the wounds of her badly-injured husband all by herself.
Nilabati Majhi said the hospital staff even forced her to take her husband Biswamber out of the emergency ward. She said she then took her wheelchair-bound husband out on to the hospital grounds where she dressed her husband’s wounds by herself without any help.
The couple hails from Dumurigaon of Tentulikhunti block in the district. Biswambar reportedly injured himself badly in a cycle mishap. The injury in his left leg was severe and soon septicaemia set in, according to sources. Nilabati brought her husband to the DHH but her case was allegedly not taken up by any of the medical staff.
They asked her to move out of the ward, Nilabati alleged, adding that her husband is the sole breadwinner of their family and that she is worried about his condition.
ADMO Choudhury Shovarani Mishra said a probe would be conducted into Nilabati’s allegations. PNN
