Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday expressed mixed feelings over the budget. He is satisfied that the overall budget outlay of the Railways for the state has been increased by about 53 per cent in the 2015-16 fiscal. However, he is disappointed that no special package has been included for the state in the budget. There was allocation for major projects like Khurda Bolangir rail line, the CM said. Due allocations have been made for our ongoing major projects like Khurda-Bolangir, where state government has made a commitment to provide land free of cost and bear 50 per cent of the project cost.” he said.
“Some of the traditionally neglected railway sections like Sambalpur-Titlagarh, Sambalpur-Talcher have been given due weightage. He was disappointed over a token allocation of Rs 1,000 for the proposed wagon factory. “When there is a package for the North East and Kashmir regions, no such special package has been given for our inaccessible and backward districts with zero railway networks despite our commitment to provide land free of cost along with 50 per cent project cost,” he said.
