Naveen most popular CM: MOTN survey

New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has once again been adjudged the most popular Chief Minister in home state in the Mood of the Nation (MOTN) survey conducted by the India Today group, recently.

Patnaik received positive ratings from around 61.3 percent people of Odisha in the MOTN poll in contrast to 78 percent rating he got in 2022. This means, despite a little erosion, Naveen’s popularity graph continues to scale high.

Patnaik was followed by Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel. Around 59. 1 percent people voted for Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, 57.7 percent voted for Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, 55.3 percent voted for Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and 49.2 percent voted for Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in the MOTN rankings.

In 2022, Patnaik was rated the most popular CM in the country in the MOTN poll. Naveen had emerged as the most popular CM with a 78 per cent popularity rating in Odisha. He was followed by Assam’s Himanta Biswa Sarma in his home state with 63 per cent popularity and M K Stalin in Tamil Nadu with 61 per cent popularity.

In Odisha, 78.1 per cent of 4,564 respondents said they were satisfied with Naveen Patnaik’s performance. Six months ago, in January 2022, 71 per cent respondents had expressed satisfaction with Naveen Patnaik’s performance. Patnaik is the longest serving chief minister of Odisha. He has remained unchallenged in his home state for over two decades. Earlier, Patnaik was also ranked the most popular chief minister in January 2021 with 51 per cent of respondents from his home state giving him positive rating.
