Jagatsinghpur: Candidates in fray are leaving no stone unturned to woo voters ahead of elections.
While actor Anubhav Mohanty recently cleared traffic for the passage of a vehicle carrying a pregnant woman, BJD’s Paradip nominee Sambit Routray jumped on the bandwagon by lending a shoulder to carry a body to the cremation ground in Jagatsinghpur district.
While campaigning at Ranitola in Tirtol block of the district, Routray came to know about the death of Mohan Mohapatra. He immediately abandoned campaigning and reached the spot. The BJD nominee carried the body on his shoulders along with three others to the cremation ground.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also described him as a “true representative of the people”.
Notably, Anubhav Mohanty was on a campaign trail in Kendrapara when he noticed a pregnant woman in an auto-rickshaw wjhich got stuck in a traffic snarl while he was going to Tinimuhani with his supporters.
The actor’s gesture came after there was traffic congestion on Duhuria-Tinimuhani road. The driver of the auto-rickshaw was trying to navigate the vehicle through the jam to reach Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital when Anubhav alighted from his car and started clearing the way.
While many fans lined up to take selfies with the actor, Anubhav advised them to wait before the traffic was cleared. After minutes, the traffic dispersed and the auto navigated to the DHH without difficulty.
