BHUBANESWAR: Disruption of network services in the aftermath of extremely severe cyclonic storm ‘Fani’ has resulted in inexplicable suffering of netizens across the capital.

Even though city folks will not be able to access their cell phones to log into social media platforms, various celebrities have offered support to the cyclone ravaged state with hash tags Let’sstandwithodisha and Indiastandswithodisha.

Many victims had earlier shared their experience of the fateful day on Instagram, Facebook and Youtube. Several stars of the Hindi film industry like Disha Patani, Tiger Sheroff and Terence Lewis among others shared these hash tags asking people to donate to the CM relief fund.

Despite national media’s failure to provide adequate coverage to the devastation in Odisha, which was criticized by many, several others have ignored it and have focused all their energies to ensure the speedy revival of the city.

Local rapper Big Deal said, “Odisha needs your help right now. While the national media continues to ignore us, we have not lost faith in the people. People like you and me can contribute, if not spread word so that someone else can help.”

Odia actress Swapna Pati said, “Cyclone Fani slammed into Odisha Friday morning and took every soul by a series of shock and unfortunate thoughts. The state has faced several storms since ages and has incurred heavy losses. Lets pledge to rebuilt Odisha this time and save as many lives as we can.”

Famed photographer and director Mohsin Abrar said “We were tough during 1999 super cyclone and will be tougher now. This shall also pass. We will rise stronger than ever before because this is what we are.”

Praises also poured in for government and volunteers for their quick action. They saluted the foot soldiers that are ensuring smooth flow of logistics and restoration work in affected zones. It’s worth mentioning that our state govt has been praised by international media for successfully evacuating lakhs of people in time and ensuring minimal casualty.
