Neuro disorder hits infant girl, mom cries for help

Rourkela: Motherhood brings happiness to women, but it was different for a tribal woman in Dhashanada village of Lahunipada block in Sundargarh district as a strange disease has affected her daughter, a report said Sunday.

Rahil Haro, (24), wife of William Haro, (27), is worried nowadays about her two-year-old daughter Anisha as she is bedridden for over a year after being affected by a neurological disorder. The woman is running from pillar to post and begging before relatives to get her daughter treated.

However, her efforts have not become successful in raising the resources required for the treatment of her daughter. Her life has become difficult with her daughter suffering all the time. She is now waiting for her husband to return.

Her husband went to Surat to work and pay for his daughter’s treatment but is stuck there and has failed to come home. She has sold off all her belongings except her home for the treatment of her daughter. However, the infant is still bedridden.

The matter came out when she went to seek help from a relative for her daughter’s treatment at Kucheita in Lathikata and a social activist met her. Kusum, the activist, visited her house and inquired about her daughter’s illness.

She asked Rahil to be patient and promised to talk to the district administration and get her help. Kusum’s promise has raised Rahil’s hopes. She now thinks that her child will be cured one day with the help of the administration.
