New signage at 7 city parks

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has installed new attractive signage at seven major parks of the capital city to help the park users better and facilitate navigation to different corners of the parks.

These green-coloured signage have been constructed to beautify the parks and help the first time visitors to the different parks. They show directions to different amenities and also the roads nearby, besides the exit and entry routes to ease the movement of users.

The seven city parks with new signage include Indira Gandhi Park, Biju Patnaik Park, Madhusudan Das Park, Buddha Jayanti Park, Kharavel Park, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Park and Mahatma Gandhi Park.

The map signage informs the visitors of all significant points of interest such as special attractions, toilets, drinking water facilities and pathways. Entry signage will indicate entrances for both normal and specially-abled persons. Comprehensive caution signage has been put up at each of the gate of these parks with dos and don’ts for users in the park. Each point of interest has been provided with signage to indicate its presence.

“I am a morning walker and often visit the Madhusudan Das Park. The new signage has given a new trendy and international look to our park. I feel proud to be part of the city, which has changed itself a lot for and during the World Cup Hockey,’’ said Nrupakishore Patnaik, president of Resident Welfare Association, Kalunanda Nagar, Pokhariput.
