Newborn boy rescued

Buguda: A day after a newborn baby girl was rescued from a paddyfield in Sambalpur, locals of Sorada village near here in Ganjam district rescued a newborn baby boy from a bush near the village, Tuesday morning.

Locals on their way to relieve themselves spotted the baby and rescued it. Luckily, the baby was safe. It survived the chill weather at night. There was no attack from dogs, insects or wild animals.

It is presumed that an unwed pregnant girl or her family left the child there.

A couple of the village came forward and expressed their wish to adopt the baby and took it home. However, a final decision on this is with the police and the CWC.
