Kendrapara: Non-resident Odias in Pune of Maharashtra have turned saviours for an accident victim from Kendrapara who is now battling for life following an accident.
The Odia community with help of some youths has been trying to raise funds to save the life of the victim. They also got him admitted to the hospital and have so far collected Rs 4 lakh for his treatment.
According to sources, Prafulla Rout of Ikiriya village in Kendrapara district had gone to Pune in search of work.He met with an accident and was admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Pune.
Some Odias came forward and arranged funds for his treatment. They also contacted some NGOs for financial assistance.
With a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh still pending, Rout’s family members have appealed to the state government to airlift him to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
