Now, you can get motorbike on rent in Bbsr

Bhubaneswar: Keeping in mind the enthusiasm of fans ahead of Men’s Hockey World Cup, the government launched a scheme to rent motorbikes.

Like the recently launched cycle service under ‘Mo Cycle’ scheme, the bikes will also be available on rent basis. Anyone can rent the two-wheelers on hourly or per day basis.

The State transport department has provided the license to Your Smart Ride Private Limited for this. This is the first such scheme in Odisha.

This scheme will highly help the visitors and tourists who have arrived in the city for the Hockey World Cup. The RTO-II in Bhubaneswar arranged a programme in this connection and transport department secretary Sanjiv Panda handed over the license to Your Smart Ride Private Limited director Rajesh Kumar Khilo.

The tourists can rent the two-wheelers including scooty to visit tourist places as per their wish. They don’t have to go on fully packed buses. The bikes can be booked online after depositing a security amount of Rs 300-500. The bikes will be rented for Rs 39-95 per hour.

A GPS setting has been installed in the vehicles with the help of which the officials can trace the location of the vehicles. Moreover, the officials warned of fine if the bike riders overtake speed limit.

Similarly, 1400 cycles have reached Bhubaneswar. In the first phase 1000 cycles will be available for public use for which BMC has identified 120 locations.

While the first 30 minutes will be free ride, for a monthly membership users will have to pay Rs 100 for using the cycles. Meanwhile, questions are being raised over possible encroachment on the tracks.
