Nuapada: Dedication to serve the deprived sections and little care towards threats from Maoists put collector Dr Poma Tudu in the second spot in a list of best administrators of the country, said additional district magistrate Trilochan Minz at a programme Sunday while felicitating her for the feat.
She is just behind IAS Prashant Nayar, the tourism secretary at the Centre who implemented a host of welfare projects as the collector of Kozhikode in Kerala. Dungarpur collector Surendra Kumar Solanki of Rajasthan was third in the list, it was learnt.
Dr Tudu recently trekked four km on a hilly terrain to address the issues of tribals living on a hilltop village Samadpadar in Ranimunda panchayat under Khariar block. The threat from Maoists and wild animals didn’t come on her way.
The news splashed all over the place and words of appreciation started flowing from various quarters. Dr Tudu is a pass out of Lady Hardingne Medical College, Delhi.
