Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly of Small & Medium Enterprises (OASME) expressed its appreciation to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for abolishing the Professional Tax in the state. The decision is expected to provide significant relief to businesses, professionals, and entrepreneurs across Odisha.
“This move will boost the state’s economic growth and promote a business-friendly environment. Abolition of Professional Tax had been a long-standing demand of OASME,” said Satwik Swain, Secretary General, OASME.
“We commend the Chief Minister’s commitment to simplifying tax structures and reducing the tax burden on citizens. This decision will positively impact the state’s economy and encourage entrepreneurship,” he added.
OASME said the decision would particularly benefit micro and medium enterprises, the backbone of Odisha’s economy. The abolition of Professional Tax was expected to improve liquidity and encourage greater investment in the state.
