Odia actress Elsha makes U-turn, says no mental harassment from director

Bhubaneswar: Odia actress Elsha Ghosh who accused director Dillip Panda of mental harassment at the audio release function of Odia film ‘Tu Mo Suna Chadhei’ at a hotel four days ago, took a U-turn Saturday, terming the whole incident as misunderstanding and misconception.

At a press conference, Elsha said whatever allegations she had raised against Panda including mental harassment were without any reason.

She brought the mental harassment allegation against Panda just because she had lost her cool on that day after the director had snatched the mike from her.

“My exasperation should not have been seen as a case of ‘casting couch’ or #MeToo or anything else as projected in the media,” she said.

She announced that they have settled all the differences amicably.

When asked about her statement regarding her intention to make public Panda’s real character during the audio release event, the actress got infuriated and left the press meet.

Meanwhile, many observers felt that the actress changed her stance due to some developments after the incident.

Following her allegations against Panda, the Directors’ Association came in support of the latter.

Elsha might have changed her earlier stance for the fear that it could curtail her future chances in the industry, observers added.
