Odia technician Shubhashish Nayak contributes to Chandrayaan-3 mission

Kendrapara: India successfully launched its third lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, Friday from Sriharikota Space Center in Andhra Pradesh. The involvement of a young technician from Odisha in this mission has become the talk of the town in Kendrapara.

Shubhashish Nayak, a resident of Odisha’s Kendrapara district, was part of this project as a technician.

Nayak was born into a poor family in Mukundapur village. After completing his matriculation in 2009 from Banamali Brahmachari Model High School in Dohali, he pursued an ITI course in Cuttack’s Jagatpur. Later, he studied at CTTC (Central Tool Room & Training Centre), Bhubaneswar for three years.

After acquiring the necessary educational qualifications, he was recruited at ISRO as a technician in 2018. Four years later, he was involved in the Chandrayaan-3 project.

Shubhashish’s family is proud of him for his achievements. His father Malay Nayak operates a shop in Chandol Bazar in Kendrapara district. His mother Nirmala Nayak is a homemaker. Upon hearing the news of her son’s contributions, she expressed joy.

ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 was launched by LVM3 rocket (Launch Vehicle Mark-III), which carries a lander and a rover. After landing on the surface August 23, the rover will then deploy and explore the lunar surface.
