Odisha BJP president Samir Mohanty tests positive for COVID-19, hospitalised

Bhubaneswar: State BJP president Samir Mohanty has tested positive for COVID-19.

He is reportedly undergoing treatment at AIIMS in Bhubaneswar.

Mohanty informed in a tweet that he has tested positive for coronavirus infection and has been hospitalised.

At the same time, he requested those who came in contact with him recently to isolate and test themselves for COVVID-19.

“Due to symptoms of Corona, I went for the test and found positive. I am doing well, but as per the advice of doctors I got hospitalized and under treatment. I request to all who have come in contact with me in past few days kindly isolate and conduct test if necessary,” read Mohanty’s tweet.

Earlier, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Talcher MLA, Braja Kishore Pradhan, Baliguda MLA, Chakramani Kanhar, Kendrapara MLA Sashi Bhusan Behera were tested positive. More than 25 MLAs have so far contracted the virus.

Notably, Minister for Textiles, Handlooms and Handicrafts, Padmini Dian and Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi were shifted to Bhubaneswar COVID-19 hospitals after they complained of breathing problems. They are undergoing treatment.
