Odisha: Bus carrying 50 passengers veers off NH-55 in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A private bus carrying around 50 passengers veered off the road and entered a pit near Shakti Sugar square on NH-55 in Dhenkanal district Sunday. Reports stated that all the passengers are safe.

The bus, named ‘Pooja,’ was travelling from Telkoi in Kendujhar district to Bhubaneswar. The exact time of the incident is yet to be known. A crane was used to pull the bus out of the pit.

Sources said the bus driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road. most of the passengers were from Kendujhar, Kataka and Bhubaneswar, the source added.

The exact circumstances leading to the accident are yet to be established. No comments were received from the local police.
