Dharakote: The Ganjam district administration suspended the Supply Inspector of Dharakote block on charge of dereliction in duty during the relief distribution for the cyclone-affected victims Monday.
The Supply Inspector was identified as Balakrishna Nayak. Cyclone Arnab caused extensive damage in 18 panchayats of Dharakote block in Ganjam district. With floodwaters receding, relief distribution has begun for affected people. The government had directed all employees to remain present at their respective headquarters and assist in relief operations.
However, for allegedly neglecting the assigned responsibilities, Supply Inspector Nayak was suspended. Ganjam Collector ordered his suspension and assigned additional charge of Dharakote block to Nihar Ranjan Behera, Supply Inspector of Buguda block.
