Angul: A bizarre incident came to light where a differently-abled man sought assistance from Angul Collector in finding a suitable bride for him, a source said Tuesday.
The PwD (Person with Disabilities) man identified as Sanjib Mohapatra from Nuapada village under Chhendipada block attended a grievance redressal camp that was held Monday on Chhendipada panchayat samiti office premises, the source added.
Sanjib in his application conveyed that, due to his elderly parents’ limitations, they are unable to find a suitable match for him.
“My parents are no longer able to cook due to their advancing age. I have requested the government to find a life partner for me,” Sanjib said.

Sanjib further informed that his older brother does not stay with him, which adds more woes to his life. The absence of an immediate family member at home exacerbates his difficulties as there is no one to take care of his elderly parents.
However, comments from the Collector or any administrative official could not be obtained in this regard.
