Jajpur Town: A girl student here in Jajpur district allegedly committed suicide by hanging for not performing well in the last two papers of her matriculation examination which concluded Monday.
The deceased was identified as Rashmibala Pahil, a student of Jajati Keshari High School at Bamadevpur (Barahata) in Jajpur district.
Reports said that the deceased girl had informed her family members that she could not perform well in the last two subjects of the ongoing matriculation examination.
The girl lost her mental balance and ended her life by hanging herself with her scarf inside the house last night. The matter came to light Monday morning.
Jajpur Town police sent the body for post-mortem and launched an investigation.
