Balasore: Police Thursday recovered the body of a minor girl stuffed in a sack from a house near Samalpur village under the Industrial police limits in Balasore district.
The girl had been staying in the area along with two other girls. Her native is reported to be in Bahanaga. Locals said the trio survived by collecting and selling scrap materials.
Industrial police Inspector-In-Charge Shyamaghana Behera reached the spot and launched an investigation. While the cause of death remains unclear, police suspect it to be a case of murder. The IIC said the exact circumstances of the girl’s death would be known after completion of the probe.

The body was sent to the district headquarters hospital for autopsy. The girl’s identity has not yet been established.
