Brahmapur: An alleged attempt to secretly record women in a toilet at the medicine department’s inpatient ward of MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCGMCH) in Brahmapur came to light Tuesday, prompting hospital authorities to order an inquiry. The incident surfaced after an intern lodged a complaint.
According to the complaint, a few days earlier, female interns working in the medicine department became suspicious that a staff member had entered the toilet, switched on his mobile phone camera and concealed the device there. The interns searched the toilet and allegedly found the mobile phone.
They immediately alerted the departmental authorities. The department in-charge subsequently summoned the staff member concerned and reprimanded him. Hospital Superintendent has since ordered an inquiry into the incident. The staff member has reportedly been transferred to another department following the incident.
