Odisha Higher Edu Min asks officials to ensure that employees receive pension on very day of retirement

Bhubaneswar: A dedicated pension cell should start functioning immediately and the employees must receive their pension on the very day of retirement, Odisha Higher Education Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak has said.

Reviewing the activities of the Higher Education Department Saturday, the Minister said the department to have a dedicated pension cell and must maintain integrity and transparency.

The pending pension cases must be cleared up within a specific timeline, he directed.

He also gave instructions for all-out efforts to fill up the vacancies of teaching and non-teaching staff in the colleges.

The Minister asked the officers to create a database of all the faculty of the government-aided colleges through software so that the vacancy can be monitored and rationalised.

While advising the officers of the department to maintain absolute integrity and transparency, Nayak warned that any deviation wouldn’t be tolerated.

He also asked the secretary of Higher Education to personally review the funds pending in various colleges and ensure its early utilisation.
