Sundargarh: Police Wednesday arrested a youth for murder of a female postmaster Snigdha Pradhan whose body was recovered from a field near Lephripara block in Odisha’s Sundargarh district Tuesday.
The accused was identified as Nayan.
A police source said that Nayan stabbed Snigdha multiple times using a knife which ultimately led to her death.
Police informed that Snigdha and Nayan were in a relationship.
“During the course of investigation, we had detained Nayan. He confessed to have killed her. Nayan informed that he was feeling insecure as the deceased was talking with other male colleagues,” local SDPO said while adding that Snigdha’s mother had received a message which stated that both Snigdha and Nayan were killed and it also gave a location where the body of her daughter was dumped.
Police said that the aforementioned message was sent by none other than the accused.
Notably, Snigdha went missing from her residence Monday. Later, her family lodged an FIR in connection with the incident.
