Koraput: A father allegedly hacked his son to death Tuesday in Odisha’s Koraput district, a source said.
According to the source, the victim died on the spot after his father struck him with an axe. The incident took place at Ambagaon village under Damanjodi police limits in Koraput district.
Police have detained the accused father and an investigation into the matter is underway.
However, locals suggested the killing to be a consequence of a fallout between the father-son duo.
In a similar but unrelated incident last year, a father tied up his unemployed 40-year-old son and left him to die under the afternoon sun in Keonjhar district. The deceased son was identified to be Sumant Nayak. Police later detained the father who ran a food stall on sidewalk.
