Bhubaneswar: Odisha government is planning to introduce ‘notebook system’ for students in government-aided schools from this year, informed School and Mass Education Department Minister Samir Ranjan Dash Saturday.
Dash said notebook system — similar to that of private schools — will help to close the communication gap between teachers and guardians. Notebooks will be used by students for homework, school activities, and other academic activities.
The guardians will get to know about their kid’s homework, studies, syllabus coverage status of various subjects as well as the teachers’ remarks, the Minister said.
The notebooks will also contain information such as details of holidays, school programs, emergency phone numbers, and the details of teachers, Dash added.
Dash stated that the state government gave priority to education sector and approved Rs 30,030 crore in state Budget 2023–24, which was presented Friday.
It can be mentioned here that the Odisha government has also proposed a new scheme called ‘Mukhya Mantri Medhabi Chhatrabruti Yojana’. Under this scheme, meritorious undergraduate students will get a stipend of Rs 10,000 per annum. Additionally, around 5,000 eligible postgraduate students would receive a scholarship of Rs 15,000 per year till the completion of their respective degrees.
Similarly, 10,000 eligible technical and professional students will receive a scholarship of Rs 20,000 per year throughout their courses.
