Papadahandi: Police rescued a newborn boy found inside a bag lying on the roadside near Majhiguda-Gopiguda Square in Nabarangpur district.
ASI Ananta Kadraka and a team from Maidalpur police station were patrolling the area early Monday when they noticed the bag and found the infant inside.
The baby was taken to the Maidalpur health centre and later shifted to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital for further treatment. The infant is reported to be in stable condition.
Police suspect that the baby may have been abandoned after birth. An investigation is underway to identify the child’s parents and establish the circumstances surrounding the abandonment.
