Bhadrak/Chandbali: A panchayat executive officer (PEO) in Bhadrak was suspended for alleged negligence in flood management operations.
He was identified as Raghunath Majhi, the PEO of Nandapur panchayat under Chandbali block in Bhadrak district. Majhi was responsible for flood management but failed to submit accurate reports to senior officials and provided misleading information, officials said Tuesday.
Following complaints, Bhadrak district Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay ordered his suspension. During the suspension, Majhi’s headquarters will be the Bhadrak district panchayat office. He will not be allowed to leave the headquarters without permission from the district panchayat officer, according to the order.
