Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police secured an impressive second place at the 26th All India Police Duty Meet (AIPDM) shooting competition held at the CRPF premises in Gurugram, Haryana, bringing laurels to the state.
The competition, held from March 22 to 30, witnessed participation from various police teams across the country. Odisha Police scored a total of 1,601 points to finish second among state police forces.
The team achieved 743 points in rifle shooting, 527 points in pistol shooting and 327 points in carbine shooting. In an individual achievement, shooter Akshaya Kumar Sahani clinched a silver medal in the 300-yard snap category. Sahani, bearing number S/131, is currently posted at SSBN, Bhubaneswar.
Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania congratulated the Odisha Police team, medal winner Sahani and Deputy Commandant, team manager and coach MSA Farid for the outstanding performance.
