Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 11,059 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 7,03,441. The active caseload in the state now stands at 1,11,262. Out of the 11,059 new infections, 6,193 were reported from quarantine centres while 4,866 persons contracted the virus locally.
Odisha reported highest ever 32 fresh fatalities taking the total tally in the state to 2,516 as per a tweet of the Health and Family Welfare department. Out of the 32 fresh fatalities, Khurda alone reported six (including four from Bhubaneswar); Ganjam and Jharsuguda districts (four each); Angul, Kalahandi and Sundargarh districts (three each); Gajapati and Puri districts (two each); Bolangir, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Nayagarh and Sambalpur districts (one each).
Cuttack district registered the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 1,133 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Khurda with 1,010 new infections.

Other districts that reported new COVID-19 cases are: Angul (859), Balasore (400), Bargarh (367), Bhadrak (377), Bolangir (166), Boudh (261), Deogarh (103), Dhenkanal (351), Gajapati (67), Ganjam (155), Jagatsinghpur (330), Jajpur (564), Jharsuguda (228), Kalahandi (407), Kandhamal (103), Kendrapara (309), Keonjhar (200), Koraput (175), Malkangiri (98), Mayurbhanj (662), Nabarangpur (322), Nayagarh (246), Nuapada (44), Puri (430), Rayagada (177), Sambalpur (379), Subarnapur (204) and Sundargarh (729).
The State Pool reported 203 new cases in the last 24 hours. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 1,13,75,076 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of new recoveries stands at 11,627.
