Kataka: Bhubaneswar Tigers registered a thrilling one-run win by the DLS method against Kataka Panthers in a rain-curtailed fixture of the Bharat Masala Odis ha T20 League – CM Trophy at the iconic Barabati Stadium. The Tigers’ bowlers put up an impressive performance to restrict Kataka Panthers to 53/6 in 7.4 overs before rain once again interrupted play.
The Panthers struggled to get the quick start they needed and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The Bhubaneswar bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings and did not allow the Panthers’ batters to score freely. Rajesh Mohanty and Badal Biswal played a key role in keeping the scoring rate under control.
Mohanty returned with excellent figures of 1/3 in one over, while Badal picked up one wicket for nine runs in his two overs. Sambit Beja also made an important contribution with the ball, claiming 2/12 in 1.2 overs as the Tigers continued to put pressure on the Panthers. Bhubaneswar Tigers came out to chase and scored 9/1 in one over before rain brought the match to another halt. With no further play possible, the Tigers were declared winners by one run according to the DLS method.
