Odisha to get 4 new bridges

New Delhi: Odisha is all set to have four high level bridges, as the Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry has approved their construction under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) with an allocation of Rs 18.3 crore.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, in a letter to BJP MP Basant Panda, said that infrastructure development had been at the core of the government’s efforts to fuel economic growth. “In our pursuit towards this mission, my Ministry has undertaken the construction of a number of highway projects with enhanced focus on providing better connectivity to remote areas in Odisha,” Gadkari said.

The ministry has approved the construction of one of the bridges over Hati River and three over Tel river.

Earlier, Panda had requested the Union Minister to construct bridges over the rivers. The minister also appreciated the BJP MP for his initiatives in the task of the construction of national highways for the overall socio-economic development of Odisha.
