Odisha Vigilance officials unearth assets worth crores from possession of Assistant Engineer

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths Friday unearthed disproportionate assets (DA) worth crores of rupees from the possession of an Assistant Engineer.

Vigilance sources in Bhubaneswar said that on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to his known source of income, simultaneous house searches are being conducted.

The Assistant Engineer has been identified as Arjun Kumar Sahu who works in the Rural Works Sub-Division, Salipur in Cuttack district.

During searches two buildings including one triple-storied building at Bhubaneswar worth approximately Rs 1 crore, 21 plots, deposits over Rs 88.26 lakhs, Rs 5.45 lakh in cash, three four-wheelers along with other assets have been unearthed so far in the name of Sahu and his family members, the source said.

The measurement and valuation of the buildings and plots are being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.

Searches are still underway.
