Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Monday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of May 30: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts.
Hailstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Koraput districts.
Besides, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Nuapada, Bargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Balasore, Bhadrak and Bolangir districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and at one or two places over the rest districts of the state.
From 8.30 AM of May 30 to 8.30 AM of May 31: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of south coastal Odisha, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
Temperature forecast: The weather agency forecasted no large change in maximum temperature (day) at many places over the districts of the state. It is likely to be 42 degree Celsius or more at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha over the next five days.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 39 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 42.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Sambalpur and Boudh while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Deogarh, the bulletin informed.
