Bhubaneswar: Odisha to witness rainfall in several districts as a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal by October 13, the weather department said Saturday.
The system is expected to develop under the influence of a cyclonic circulation currently prevailing over the Gulf of Thailand and adjoining areas. The circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and is likely to move into the Andaman Sea by October 11.
The anticipated formation of the low-pressure area could influence weather conditions over the region, with rainfall forecast in parts of Odisha.
Yellow warning for 8 districts
The weather department has issued a yellow warning for light to moderate rain in eight districts of the state. These include Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar, Kataka, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Baleshwar, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada.
Residents in the districts have been advised to monitor weather updates and follow official advisories.
