Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience rainfall over the next week, with thunderstorms and lightning expected in several areas and heavy rain forecast in parts of the state, the Regional Centre of India Meteorological Department said Wednesday.
A yellow warning has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar and Bhadrak for the next 24 hours.
Rain forecast for August 27-28
Northern and coastal Odisha are likely to receive rain August 27 and 28. Some areas may also experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning during the period.
Heavy rain likely August 29-31
Rainfall activity is expected to intensify from August 29, with heavy to very heavy rain forecast across most districts through August 31.
Some districts in northern and western Odisha could receive 12 to 20 cm of rain during this period.
