Puri: Police Tuesday recovered the body of an elderly woman encased in concrete beneath the kitchen slab in Puri’s Kumbharapada area.
The son of the deceased woman, Madan Dalai (45), suspected of killing her, has reportedly fled the spot.
The case came to light after a foul smell was noticed coming from beneath the kitchen slab of their rented house in Patitapaban Sahi under Kumbharapada police limits. The house owner subsequently informed police about the incident.
Police, along with a scientific team, reached the spot and broke open the plaster, following which the woman’s body was recovered.
