Kendrapara: Derabish police Monday arrested a man for his involvement in impregnating a 15-years old fellow village girl.
IIC of Derabish police station Kishore Kumar Tarai said the accused identified as Kulamani Samal was arrested for raping the girl and making her pregnant.
The police nabbed Kulamani while he was trying to flee from the locality. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime before the police.
‘The Police later sent both the accused and the victim for medical examination. Kulamani was booked and produced before the local court which remanded him into jail custody.
The IIC said that July 26 last the victim minor girl’s mother lodged an FIR with Derabish police station alleging that Kulamani had raped her daughter and impregnated her.
The accused had threatened her daughter to face dire consequences and would kill all her family members if she disclosed the matter to anybody, the victim’s mother said.
