Sambalpur, June 1: A day after a team of DTETM IDENTIFICATIOg (DTET) inspected three sites each in the district to set up permanent and temporary campuses of the proposed IIM,Orissa, a review meeting on site identification was held in the conference hall of Revenue Divisional Commission (RDC) (North) here Monday.
Technical education director Bishnu Prsad Sahu, RDC NBS Rajput, collector Balwant Singh discussed about the sites and various other issues for temporary as well as the permanent campuses of the premier institute.
Roads and building department executive engineer Sanjay Kumar Sahu, deputy executive engineer Pradipta Kumar Nath, sub-collector Bimalendu Roy, tehsildar Rajendra Minz and others were present in the meeting. Technical education director, RDC and collector refused to disclose any details of the meeting.
Meanwhile, the campaign for setting up of the premier educational institute gained momentum with BJD workers staging a demonstration in front of the office of RDC (North) here Monday.
Scores of BJD activists, led by Sambalpur MLA Raseswari Panigrahi and Rengali legislator Ramesh Patua, staged a demonstration and sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the RDC (North).
The leaders slammed the Centre for seeking clarification from the state government about the availability of employment opportunities in the district and accused Modi-government of hatching a conspiracy to blame the state government for the current imbroglio over deciding the site for the B-school.
