Berhampur: Omprakash Senapati of Puri and Manju Munda of Keonjhar were adjudged the best boxers in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively in the state level sub-junior boxing championships, jointly organized by Boxing Orissa and Khurda District Amateur Boxing Association. The meet ended here Sunday.
Akash Dakua was the second best boxer in the boys’ segment while the same honour went to Anuradha Jena in the girls’ segment. The winners from each segment qualified to represent Orissa at the National Amateur Boxing Championships at Hyderabad, October 26-27.
Dronacharya awardee boxing coach Braja Bhusana Mohanty inaugurated the tournament. Participants from Khurda, Ganjam, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Nayagarh, Malkangiri, and Gajapati participated in the competition.
