Sambalpur: Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) has demanded implementation of Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) scheme in the state.
At the zonal level meeting of government doctors held at the Indian Medical Association building (IMA House) here Sunday, OMSA decried that their long cherished demand of DACP is yet to be accepted by the state government though the association has been demanding it since 2006. Already, it has been implemented in 18 states in the country, OMSA said.
The state outfit has issued an ultimatum that if the DACP is not implemented by June, its members would remain absent on holidays from July. DACP would enable the government doctors to get their promotions and allowances in due course and help attract quality doctors to remain in government service. Besides, it is expected to check their migration to upcoming medical colleges in the state.
OMSA also resolved to pressurize the state government to restructure doctors’ cadre in consultation with OMSA; regularization of ad hoc appointments; leave benefit on holidays; additional pay for additional work and extension of retirement age up to 62 years.
Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Sambalpur, Dr Kalyan Kumar Gupta, presided over the meeting as the Sambalpur district president of OMSA. Its state president Dr Nirakar Bhatt, state secretary Dr Punyashlok Dash, district body advisor Dr Panchanan Naik and Kuchinda sub-divisional medical officer Dr Dipak Nath were also present.
Almost all the state government doctors from ten districts of Sambalpur zone participated in the meet.
