New Delhi: Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 12.30 pm following protests by Opposition members demanding a discussion on the West Asia crisis.
The issue came up as soon as Zero Hour began at 12 noon, with Congress leader Manish Tewari saying there should be a discussion on West Asia.
After papers listed for the day were laid in the House, opposition members again pressed with their demand.
In response, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju told the protesting members that the government is ready to talk with them. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already made a statement in both Houses on the West Asia crisis.
Whenever there is a crisis, all are together, and there is no politics, Rijiju said and assured that the government would work together with the opposition.
As the ruckus continued, Speaker Om Birla adjourned the proceedings till 12.30 pm.
