Orissa colts concede first innings lead

Bhubaneswar, Oct 26: Orissa conceded a huge first innings lead of 173 runs against Railways on the third day of their four-day Plate Group B match of the U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy at Patiala, Monday.
In reply to Orissa’s first innings total of 281, Railways scored a mammoth total of 455 runs for the loss of six wickets at stumps on day three with A Pandey (141 batting, 129b,11×4, 4×6) hitting a scintillating century. S Kandepan (74, 166b, 10×4) supported Pandey well with a patient half century.
Railways started at their overnight score of 161/3 and added 294 runs for the loss of three more wickets during the day. S Mishra (19 batting) was giving Pandey company at the end of play. Pappu Roy (3/95) bowled well for Orissa.
Brief scores: Orissa 281; Railways 455/6 (A Pandey 141 batting, S Kandepan 74; Pappu Roy 3/95). Match to continue.
ORA elections
AU Singh Deo and Hariprasad Patnaik were elected as president and secretary of the Orissa Rifle Association (ORA) respectively during the body’s AGM at the Utkal Karate School here Sunday evening
Raj RC Dev, Debasish Bhattacharjee and Chitta Ranjan Swain were unanimously elected as vice-presidents of the association. The election was conducted in presence of NRAI secretary KS Kapasiya, sports and youth services department, assistance director AB Das and Orissa Olympic Association member Rabi Nayak.
